Cedar Valley Catholic Schools’ Early Childhood Program offers Preschool for 3-year-olds and Pre-Kindergarten for 4-year-olds. Our program is rooted in the Iowa Early Learning Standards, ensuring age-appropriate, engaging experiences for all students. Children participate in weekly specialized learning activities that support their development. As with all levels of Cedar Valley Catholic Schools, the Catholic faith is at the heart of our instruction and daily interactions. Regular prayer services and service opportunities help our youngest learners grow in their relationship with God and begin a lifelong journey of faith and service.

We offer fun activities that challenge the creative minds of our students while introducing academic and developmental curricula for each age group. Throughout the year, the Early Childhood Program has many opportunities for families to be involved and visit during the school day.

What Sets the CVCS Early Childhood Program Apart

Highly Qualified Staff:
The staff in the early childhood program meet the requirements of the Department of Human Services and the Iowa Department of Education. Staff receive continuous training to ensure compliance with safety and instructional expectations of the State of Iowa. Staff engage students in meaningful learning experiences to support their development.
Preschool to 5th Grade Care:The CVCS Early Childhood Program is a full time daycare program which offers care to families full time as well as wrap around care for elementary and preschool students. The staff creates classrooms and spaces in which Christ is the center and in which students can develop healthy relationships in a structured care setting.
Kindergarten Readiness:Through a streamlined and articulated curriculum the staff collaborate to ensure our students are ready for their first full time school experience in Kindergarten. The preschool teachers collaboration with the Saint Edward elementary staff helps to ensure that our students are entering Kindergarten with the skills and dispositions they need in order to be successful leaders in elementary school.
