At Blessed Maria Assunta Pallotta we work diligently to mold our students into the best versions of themselves. Our school is founded on the belief that every student is a leader and has gifts and talents that can be used for God’s kingdom. Through our Standard Based grading model, we stand firmly behind our vision that every student can learn, grow, and set goals for themselves. We seek to create students who are prepared for high school and to become Christian leaders in the modern world.
Highly Qualified Faculty:
The staff at Blessed Maria Assunta Pallotta Middle School are certified with the State of Iowa and endorsed in their content area. The staff have a combined 150 years of experience supporting the youth of the Cedar Valley Catholic Schools and developing the future leaders of our community.
Engagement in the Sacraments:
Students at Blessed Maria are immersed in the celebration of the Sacraments of the Catholic Church. Students attend Mass weekly to celebrate the Eucharist with grade level students participating in the planning and leading of the weekly Mass. Students celebrate Reconciliation twice per year as a part of their curricular experience. Additionally, our students engage in Eucharistic adoration throughout the school year to reflect on their relationship with God and grow closer to Him through this powerful experience.
100% of Students are Active in School Wide Leadership Roles:
100% of students are involved in a leadership role and maintain a leadership portfolio. From Student Lighthouse to Music Ministry our students are engaged in various leadership opportunities throughout the school year to improve our school and plan for successful learning. Our students plan prayer services and pep assemblies, maintain a clean campus, write and deliver morning announcements, celebrate each other's strengths, and identify ways in which they can make Blessed Maria consistently a school of leadership.
Various Extracurricular Opportunities:
Students at Blessed Maria have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of extracurricular activities to explore their passions during their middle school years. Fine arts, choir, band, competitive athletics and STEM programming offer our students the possibility to try on new ventures during middle school and to fully explore their talents as they develop new social and academic skills in order to build positive relationships in a healthy learning environment.
Immersion in a Digital Environment focused on Citizenship:
Students at Blessed Maria participate in a 1:1 digital learning environment with Apple iPads. Through their STEM course students are exposed to robotics, coding, 3D Printing, and much more. We believe the integration of technology in the classroom increases student engagement, accommodates multiple learning styles, encourages collaboration and communication, and prepares students for the future with Catholic morality at the core of technological use.
